Privacy Policy
Netlise Point of Sale & Restaurant Platform · Effective date: 8 July 2026
Netlise ("we", "us", "our") provides point-of-sale, order-management, and delivery-integration software for restaurants and retail merchants. This policy explains what personal data we process, why we process it, and the choices available to you. It applies to the Netlise POS applications (iPad, desktop, and web), the Netlise merchant dashboard, our cloud services, and our integrations with third-party delivery platforms such as Uber Eats.
1. Data we collect
- Order data — items ordered, prices, taxes, discounts, order status, timestamps, and receipt numbers; created by merchants on the POS or received from connected delivery platforms.
- Delivery customer details — name, contact phone number, delivery address, and delivery instructions; provided by the customer through the ordering platform (e.g. Uber Eats) or captured by the merchant for direct deliveries.
- Courier details — courier name and contact number for an active delivery, provided by the delivery platform.
- Merchant & staff data — business name, staff names, login identifiers, and operational activity logs (for example, who closed a cash batch).
- Payment summaries — payment method (cash / card / platform-paid), amounts, and where entered by staff for reconciliation, the last four digits of a card. We do not process or store full card numbers.
2. Why we process it
- Order fulfilment — receiving, preparing, and dispatching orders, including printing kitchen tickets and delivery notes that show the customer's name, phone number, and address so the order can be delivered.
- Merchant operations — sales reporting, cash reconciliation, staff activity auditing, and inventory management.
- Platform integrations — accepting, denying, and updating orders on connected platforms (e.g. Uber Eats) on the merchant's behalf.
- Service integrity — securing our APIs, preventing abuse, and diagnosing faults.
3. Uber Eats and other delivery platform data
When a merchant connects their Uber Eats store to Netlise, we receive order and customer information from Uber solely to enable the merchant to fulfil that order. We use this data in accordance with Uber's developer terms: it is shown to the fulfilling merchant, printed on operational documents (kitchen tickets, delivery notes, receipts), and retained only as part of the merchant's transaction records. We do not use delivery-platform customer data for advertising, profiling, or marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with any party other than the merchant fulfilling the order and our infrastructure providers listed below.
4. Where data is stored
- On the merchant's device — the POS keeps a local, offline-capable copy of the merchant's own orders on the device, protected by the operating system's at-rest encryption.
- In our cloud — data is stored with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the Asia-Pacific (Singapore) region, encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
5. Sharing
We share personal data only with:
- the merchant fulfilling your order (they are the data controller of their customer records);
- infrastructure providers acting as our processors (Amazon Web Services);
- delivery platforms you ordered through, to update your order's status (e.g. telling Uber Eats an order is ready for pickup);
- authorities where required by law.
We never sell personal data.
6. Retention
Order records, including delivery customer details, are retained as part of the merchant's transaction history for as long as the merchant maintains an account with us, and are deleted or anonymised on verified request or upon account closure, subject to legal record-keeping requirements. Transient integration data (such as pending-order queues) is automatically purged within hours.
7. Security
- All traffic between devices, our cloud, and delivery platforms uses TLS.
- Incoming platform webhooks are authenticated with HMAC signatures.
- API access requires per-integration credentials; platform credentials are held server-side and never distributed to POS devices.
- Access to production data is restricted and logged.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If you are a customer of a merchant using Netlise, we recommend contacting the merchant first (as the controller of your order records); we will assist them, or you directly, in honouring these rights.
9. Children
Our services are intended for business use and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated effective date.
